10 Let It Roll things you should not miss this year

10 Let It Roll things you should not miss this year

Let It Roll Festival is drawing near – so let’s quickly look at what to expect and look forward to. 10 things you should not miss...

THE STRONGEST DRUM AND BASS LINE-UP IN THE WORLD!

The festival’s main pillar has always been its stellar line-up, absolutely unparalleled among all Czech festivals. This year it includes more than 330 artists spread across nine stages from Wednesday to Sunday, promising an unforgettable experience. The biggest drum and bass celebrities such as Andy C, Camo & Krooked, Netsky, Noisia, Pendulum or Wilkinson are just the tip of the iceberg, as the festival gives ample space to practically all drum and bass subgenres imaginable, so there’s something to please every D’n’B enthusiast!

A SPECTACULAR OPENING CEREMONY!

Let It Roll, the year’s greatest drum and bass celebration, starts in less than a month! This is why the organizers revealed a few things about this year’s opening show –a grandiose ceremony that is absolutely unparalleled among all Czech festivals.

The architect of the first part is no other than Abis, an ex-member of the legendary (though now inactive) duo Jane Miller, who authored the complete opening soundtrack for LIR 2016. The second part is in the hands of the young British producer Joe Ford. The third chapter will open the floor for Rido, a seasoned drum and bass producer from Prague, who is also not new to this ceremony, having contributed to one of the previous opening soundtracks as well. There is one more name that has caused quite a stir – the famous Austrian pioneer and experimenter Mefjus. The same could probably be said about the fifth part by the multitalented english producer Muzzy, who swims between various genres with the alacrity of a piranha. The last name on this all-star bill is The Prototypes, a duo known for their tracks full of throbbing energy that leave no foot still. This is without doubt the best selection for the ultimate part, in which the entire opening ceremony reaches its peak.

 A BRAND NEW MAIN STAGE!

Our main stage is a story of its own. Again, the stage will be bigger than it was in the previous years. The biggest festival stage in the Czech Republic will once again shine with a new look. The look and shape of it will be completely re-designed by a team of architects and more than 200 technicians.

THE FESTIVAL STORY WILL REVEAL ANOTHER CHAPTER!

As the story progresses we are getting to the war between Blues and Reds. We are going through lots of battles, clashes and hardships of war. The story will tell a tale of a Civil War on the home planet of robots. The festival story will be submerged to the music stages and their designs as well to as to the festival atmosphere.

LET IT ROLL 2018 WILL HOST 17 DNB LABELS!

There really will be a great selection. A total of 17 overseas labels have accepted their invitation to this summer's (2018) Let It Roll. Spearhead Records, Technique Recordings, Get Hype, MethLab Recordings a Bunker will get the chance to introduce their shows for the very first time.

DAY ACTIVITIES & FUN ZONE!

But don’t worry, you won’t be bored during the day either, because we have prepared lots of leisure activities such as an epic water battle, graffiti jam, half pipe skating contest or several highly interesting workshops led by true masters of their craft. To top off an amazing programme, we are bringing back the popular bus parties – a series of wild daytime parties held onboard unique customized buses!

NEW FESTIVAL AREA!

The festival area has undergone a lot of changes within the past years, but this year it will be completely different. Position and spatial changes will have a positive effect on the operational smoothness and comfort. The stylish robotic feeling and design will remain, of course. Festival is moving to the other side of the airfield with broadened camps and food zones.

BEATS EVOLUTION CONFERENCE IS TAKING OVER A TENT AT THE LET IT ROLL FESTIVAL!

This year the Beats Evolution Conference is taking over a tent at the Let It Roll Festival – The ‘BEC Zone’

Each day we will be hosting some Mini-Panels, DJ Workshops,  Demo Listening Sessions and Artists will be joining us for Q&A sessions ahead of their sets later in the night. This is your chance to see what BEC is all about, take part in some activities and ask some of your favourite artists those burning questions that you have always wanted to know the answers to.

BATHING AREAS CLOSE TO THE FESTIVAL

Let It Roll festival is happening at the ex-military airfield Milovice. Sadly this area does not offer a bathing option for the festival. You may refresh yourself in other, proximate places.

Lake u Ostré, close to Lysá nad Labem is a clean water lake and the dead-end of river Labe. For sun-bathing and swimming we advise the beach-sand based banks on the North and West sides (in the area of Autocamp), both of them freely accessible. Volleyball play-field (foot volleyball also), food, boat rental, kids playground with swings and a water slide.

Nature made lake Všejany is located on the village boundaries. An outdoor concrete reservoir with water from a well is at disposal there. The area has a very soothing nature character with plenty of fauna. A beach-sand play-field for foot volleyball and food stand included.

Nature made lake in Benátky nad Jizerou, Mělnická 35 at the winter stadium. A 25x13 metres swimming pool with sand-filtered recirculation is at your disposal. 1.60 metres deep all across the pool. Plenty of green fields for relaxing, food and toilet facilities included.

LET IT ROLL OPENING SHOW 2018

BY

ABIS | JOE FORD | RIDO | MEFJUS | MUZZY | THE PROTOTYPES

The architect of the first part is no other than Abis, an ex-member of the legendary (though now inactive) duo Jane Miller, who authored the complete opening soundtrack for LIR 2016. The second part is in the hands of the young British producer Joe Ford, known for his inventive compositions and a neat, surgically sharp sound. The third chapter will open the floor for Rido, a seasoned drum and bass producer from Prague, who is also not new to this ceremony, having contributed to one of the previous opening soundtracks as well.

There is one more name that has caused quite a stir – the famous Austrian pioneer and experimenter Mefjus, who will probably never cease to amaze and surprise his fans and currently belongs among the most sought out producers out there. There is no doubt that his part of the ceremony will be extraordinary and absolutely unique.

It is always a challenge for the organization team to outdo the breathtaking opening ceremonies from the previous years, but we have to admit that they have been doing more than well so far. And from what we already know, chances are they will once again push their limits and make this ceremony the most spectacular and memorable one to date. So mark the August dates well in your calendars – because only seeing and hearing is believing!

Cashless at Let It Roll 2018

Cashless at Let It Roll 2018

Last year worked out more than well, so we decided that Let It Roll is going to be cashless in 2018 as well! More info in the article…

Cashless at Let It Roll 2018

CASHLESS IN BRIEF:

  1. The chip-enabled wristband does not only function as a “ticket” that allows visitors to move around the festival area, but also as a cashless wallet. Every visitor will receive their own wristband when entering the festival area.
  2. It is possible to top up your cashless account online in advance (before the festival begins) or after arrival to the festival area (either online or in person at the Top Up booth).
  3. The cashless account will use the festival’s currency – Bolts. At every Top Up booth and in the festival guide there will be a currency converter to help you with the math.
  4. After the end of the festival, you can ask for a refund of the credit remaining in your cashless wallet to your bank account. For that you will need your wristband number (keep your wristband!) and a registered cashless account with a valid email address. Please read the refund conditions below.

What is the cashless wristband and how does it work?

Cashless payment systems work similarly to credit/debit cards or travel passes. Your festival wristband will function as a digital wallet to be used for purchases at the festival – payments can be made by simply tapping your wristband to the chip-reading terminal. First you need to top up your wristband with the festival’s digital currency – either online or at Top Up booths in the festival area.

Currency accepted at the festival:

Only payments by cashless wristbands are accepted in the entire festival area. Our cashless currency is called Bolt (BLT). BLT to CZK exchange rate will be announced at the festival and on the cashless page, and conversion tables will be provided for easier orientation.

Exceptions:

  • Tickets – can be paid in cash (CZK or EUR) and by payment cards
  • Merchandise – can be paid in cash (CZK or EUR) and by cashless
  • Cashless wristband top-up at the booth – can be paid in cash (CZK or EUR) and by payment cards

Setting up a cashless account:

You can register your cashless account in advance starting from 19th July 2018, i.e. two weeks before the festival, at https://letitroll.pay.intellifest.com/. The system will be launched in late afternoon or in the evening (about 20:00). Registration requires a valid email address and some basic contact information.

  • NOTE: It is not possible to use account credentials from last year – you need to create a new account!

If you don’t set up a cashless account in advance, we highly recommend doing it right away after arriving to the festival and not waiting until you need a refund of the unused credit. This will allow you to top up your credit online on the spot, and also to quickly block your wristband if it gets lost or stolen and transfer any remaining funds to a new one. These options are not available without a cashless account!

Once you’re done with the registration, do not forget to activate your account by clicking the activation link in the email you should receive shortly after. Then you can link your account with your ticket number. When you arrive to the festival, your wristband will be automatically linked with your cashless account.

If you’re buying your ticket at the festival, skip the ticket step and link your cashless account directly with the number of the wristband.

If you’re coming to the festival as a couple and want to use a single cashless account, you can do just that by linking two ticket/wristband numbers with your cashless account. In this way you can share the funds in one account. Please note that when processing refunds, we cannot separate who will get how much back to their accounts – the entire sum remaining on a shared account will be refunded to a single bank account.

Topping up your cashless account:

Topping up your cashless account is only possible in whole BLT amounts. To help you with the math, we have prepared a conversion chart, which will be available in the festival guide and at the Top Up booths at the festival.

Online top-up:

minimum 4 Bolts / maximum 400 Bolts

Visitors who bought their tickets in the presale via www.letitroll.eu can top up their cashless account without limitations at any time from the launch of the cashless page to the end of the festival.

Visitors who bought their tickets via Festicket.com can set up a cashless account and top it up in advance only if they bought their festival ticket before the midnight of 17th July 2018. Those who bought it on 18th July or later will only have the option to register and top up their cashless account at the festival.

Topping up at the festival:

minimum 2 Bolts / maximum 400 Bolts

Top Up booths will be open from Wednesday 1st August 2018, 16:00. Accepted payment methods are payment cards and cash (CZK and EUR).

When paying in EUR cash, the visitors can top up only with notes (5 EUR and multiples). EUR coins will not be accepted. If the visitor does not have the exact amount in cash, he or she will receive change back according to the cashier’s current options (i.e. either in EUR or in CZK). If possible, please prepare the exact amount.

  • TIP: If you create a cashless account and connect it with your wristband number, you will have the option to top up online and avoid waiting in queues!

Note: In both cases you can only top up an amount of whole Bolts (with a minimum of 2 Bolts at the booth and 4 Bolts online), not 2.5 Bolts etc. When making payments, Bolts can be divided into tenths, e.g. the price of a shower could be 0.7 Bolts.

Paying at the festival:

At the festival you can use the cashless wristband with the chip-reading terminal to pay for all food, drinks and other items such as festival merchandise.

Cash payments will only be accepted for merchandise, festival tickets and cashless credit top-up.

Cashless account balance

Whenever you’re making a payment, the terminal will show the amount of Bolts remaining on your wristband. If your balance is 6 Bolts or less, the chip will flash orange when applied to the terminal to notify you of low credit.

  • TIP: The easiest way to top up your account is to use the Enable Auto Top-up function when topping up your first credit. With this function enabled, your account will automatically increase by 10 Bolts whenever your balance drops below 3 Bolts. This way you won’t have to worry if you have enough credit whenever you need to buy something and won’t lose time searching for the nearest Top Up booth. Unused credit will be automatically refunded to your bank account after the festival.

ATM / cash machine

If you still happen to need cash, you can use the ATM located in the festival area.

Unused credit refund:

Refund is only possible for cashless accounts with a balance of 3 BLT or more. The refund fee is 1 BLT. The only refund option is having the money returned to your bank account. For foreign accounts, the refund will be made in EUR according to the sending bank’s applicable rates (the selling rate of “Fio banka”).

PLEASE NOTE: You will need your wristband number for a successful refund, so be careful not to lose it!

The credit remaining in your account will be refunded after the festival in accordance with the conditions below:

  • The lowest refundable amount is 2 Bolts and the refund fee is 1 Bolt (i.e. refund is not possible for accounts with less than 3 Bolts).
  • The refund fee of 1 Bolt applies to all refunds.
  • Please make sure you request your refund in time and make sure you have entered correct information. If you make a mistake in the request and the money needs to be sent again or if you request a refund after the deadline, you will be charged a fee of 2 Bolts.

The refund will take place in one of the following ways, depending on the top-up method:

1) CASHLESS ACCOUNT WAS ONLY TOPPED UP ONLINE:

    • Credit transferred via online top-up will be refunded automatically after the festival to the same payment card within 15 business days after the end of the festival in accordance with the festival’s refund policy.

2) CASHLESS ACCOUNT WAS TOPPED UP BY CASH/CARD PAYMENT AT THE FESTIVAL:

    • If you topped up your account at the festival, whether by cash or card payment, you need to request a refund by filling out the refund form on the cashless page.
  • The refund form will become available on Sunday 5th August 2018 at 12:00 and will close on 9th September 2018 at midnight. If the account has sufficient balance, the money will be sent to the specified bank account within 30 business days of filling out the refund form.

Refund at the festival will not be possible. The remaining funds can be only transferred to a bank account.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQs). If you still can’t find what you need, please read the full article here or contact our customer support at cashless@letitroll.cz.

a)      How do I set up my online cashless account and what is it good for?

You simply register at the cashless page using Facebook or by filling out your details. The Intellipay system will then send you an email confirmation – just click the activation button and complete the registration at the website. Setting up an account is free.

Your account allows you to top up your cashless wallet (wristband) online without having to wait in queues, to view history, review spending, download receipts, link the account to social networks, deactivate a lost wristband, and apply for a refund.

b)      How do I link my wristband with my account?

On the cashless page you can log in to your cashless account and simply connect it with your ticket number (before the festival) or your wristband number (during or after the festival). You can find the wristband number at the inner side of the chip, below the textile band. You can enter your wristband or ticket number in the “Wristband” section.

c)      How many wristbands can I add to my account?

You can add a maximum of two wristbands to one cashless account. Please keep in mind that if you connect two wristbands to a single account, the funds are always being drawn from this one account and cannot be allocated to one or the other wristband specifically. Similarly, the unused credit pertaining to both wristbands will be refunded to one bank account.

d)      What is the minimum and maximum amount for a single top-up?

Online top-up: min. 4 Bolts / max. 400 Bolts

On-site top-up: min. 2 Bolts / max. 400 Bolts

(Auto top-up: if the available balance drops below 3 Bolts, the credit is automatically increased by 10 Bolts)

Note: Both methods only allow the top-up of whole BLT amounts, i.e. 2 BLT, not 2.5 BLT, etc.

e)      How do I find out that my wristband is low on credit?

Your account balance is displayed at the beginning of every transaction whenever you tap your wristband to the terminal. If your balance is 6 Bolts or less and you apply the chip to the terminal, it will flash orange to notify you of low credit. You can also easily check your account balance online if you registered an account at https://letitroll.pay.intellifest.com/

  • TIP: The easiest way to top up your account is to enable Auto Top-up when making the first top-up (in the “Cashless settings” section on the main page). By activating this function, your credit automatically increases by 10 Bolts whenever your balance drops below 3 Bolts. Unused credit will be returned to your bank account after the festival.

f)       What happens if I lose my wristband?

If you registered a cashless account and linked it with the wristband number before the loss, everything is easy. Just stop by the Customer Care booth – the staff will help you block the cashless wallet and transfer your credit to a new wristband. You can also block a lost wristband yourself in your cashless account: click on the “Freeze” icon in the “Wristband” section.

If you didn’t link your wristband with your cashless account, this option is unfortunately not available, and the situation is similar to losing a wallet with cash.

g)      What happens with the unused credit in my cashless wallet?

All the Bolts you have purchased and haven’t spent will be refunded to your account in accordance with the refund conditions (see above). If you only topped up your account online, the money will be automatically returned to your bank account within 15 business days. If you topped up your cashless account at the Top Up booth (doesn’t matter if you paid in cash or by card), you need to submit a request by filling out the refund form at the cashless page. In this scenario, the funds will be returned to the specified bank account within 30 days of filling out the refund form. You can request a refund until the midnight of 9th September 2018 in the “Refund” section of your cashless account. Only wristbands with a balance of 3 BLT or more can be refunded. A fee of 1 BLT is charged for every refund.

FESTIVAL CURRENCY

What is Bolt (BLT)?

Bolt is the official Let It Roll currency. If you want to buy food, drinks or other items at the festival, you have to use Bolts on your cashless account (i.e. the wristband).

Where can I pay with Bolts?

Most purchases at the festival can only be made using Bolts. You can pay cashless at all catering stalls, beer stalls and others. The exceptions are as follows:

CASHLESS WRISTBAND

Where can I get my wristband?

When you come to check in at the wristband tents at the festival entrance, you will receive a cashless wristband.

Can I get my wristband shipped to me before the festival begins?

This service is currently available only to those who purchased the VIP Package ticket. Other visitors will receive their wristband at the festival.

Does the wristband also replace the ticket?

Yes, the cashless wristband does not only function as your wallet but also as the ticket which allows you to move around the festival area. However, in order to enter the festival area, you also need an original copy of the ticket (in your mobile phone or in print). Also, you should not throw away your paper ticket in case you lose your wristband later.

SETTING UP A CASHLESS ACOUNT

How do I set up (register) my online cashless account?

You can register your cashless account in advance two weeks before the festival or anytime at the festival at https://letitroll.pay.intellifest.com/. Registration requires a valid email address and some basic contact information. The Intellipay system will then send you an email confirmation – just click the activation button and complete the registration at the website.

Then you can link your account with your ticket number in the “Ticket/Wristband” section. When you arrive to the festival with your ticket, your wristband will be automatically linked with your cashless account.

If you’re registering your cashless account when already at the festival, skip the ticket step and link your cashless account directly with the number of the wristband. You can find the wristband number at the inner side of the chip, below the textile band. Account registration and top-up are free of charge.

What is the cashless account good for and why should I register?

Setting up a cashless account is not required, but we highly recommend doing it – either in advance or right away after arriving to the festival. It will allow you to top up your credit online on the spot, and also to quickly block your wristband if it gets lost or stolen and transfer any remaining funds to a new one. These options are not available without a cashless account! Furthermore it allows you to view history, review spending, download online receipts or apply for a refund of unused credit.

How can I register or connect my wristband with my cashless account?

Sign in to your cashless account and simply add your ticket number in the “Ticket/Wristband” section. If you register your ticket, the wristband will be linked automatically upon pick-up. If you don’t register your ticket, you can register the wristband number directly after receiving it at the festival. Adding your ticket or wristband number is necessary in order to enable the refund of unused Bolts after the festival.

Can I use my cashless account and wristband from the previous Let It Roll?

Unfortunately no. Each event has its separate database, so you need to register a new account. For safety reasons it also not possible to use any wristbands from previous events.

Is it possible to create an account during the festival or after?

Yes, registration is possible even after the festival at letitroll.pay.intellifest.com, because an account is needed for the refund of unused credit. For this you also need to keep your wristband and add its number in the “Ticket/Wristband” section. You can find the wristband number at the inner side of the chip, below the textile band.

What if I don’t have a ticket, because I am on the guest list?

Contest winners, visitors with the festival tattoo and others who are on the guest list can register their account at the festival and link it directly with their wristband, skipping the ticket step. These visitors can top up their account only after they have received the wristband at the festival.

CASHLESS WRISTBAND TOP-UP

How can I top up Bolts to my wristband?

You can purchase Bolts at one of the Top Up booths at the festival using either cash or payment cards. But if you want to avoid queues and enjoy the festival without worry, you can top up your wristband online, which is possible if you set up a cashless account (in advance or at the festival) and connect it with your ticket or wristband number. Cashless top up is only possible in whole Bolts (i.e. 7 BLT, but not 7.2 BLT).

Can I top up my cashless account before the festival?

Yes. At letitroll.pay.intellifest.com in the “Ticket/Wristband” section, you will find the option to register the wristband number, but you will only know that after you’ve checked in at the festival site. For this reason, if you need to top up your cashless account before the festival, just add your ticket number, and then you can top up any amount you wish. After you arrive to the festival area and submit your ticket, your cashless account, ticket and wristband will be linked automatically. Adding your ticket or wristband number to your cashless account is also necessary for the potential refund of unused credit after the festival.

Visitors who bought their tickets in the presale via www.letitroll.eu can top up their cashless account without limitations at any time from the launch of the cashless page to the end of the festival.

If possible, please prepare the exact EUR amount.

What is the Auto Top-up option?

The easiest way to top up your account is to use the Enable Auto Top-up function when topping up online. With this function enabled, your account will automatically increase by 10 Bolts whenever your balance drops below 3 Bolts. This way you won’t have to worry if you have enough credit whenever you need to buy something and won’t lose time in the queue at the nearest Top Up booth. The unused credit will be automatically refunded to your bank account after the festival in accordance with the refund policy. The minimum amount to be refunded is 2 Bolts + refund fee of 1 Bolt.

Please keep in mind that auto top-up will not be available if there is a processing error or if your payment is rejected. In that case you need to turn auto top-up off and reactivate it with another successful payment. If the problem persists, please contact our staff at the Customer Care booth.

PAYING AT THE FESTIVAL

What can I pay with my wristband and what in cash?

At the festival you can pay cashless (by tapping the wristband against the chip-reading terminal) for all food, drinks and other items such as festival merchandise. You can only use cash to pay for festival tickets, cashless credit top up and merchandise.

What’s the quickest way to find out that I have a low credit?

SHARED ACCOUNT

Can I create a shared account with a friend?

If you’re coming to the festival as a couple and want to use a single cashless account, you can do just that by linking two ticket/wristband numbers with your cashless account. In this way you can share the funds in one account. Please note that when processing refunds, we cannot separate who will get how much back to their accounts – the entire sum remaining on a shared account will be refunded to a single bank account.

Can I add more wristbands to my account?

You can add a maximum of two wristbands to your cashless account. Please keep in mind that if you connect two wristbands to a single account, the funds are always being drawn from this one account and cannot be allocated to one or the other wristband specifically. Similarly, the unused credit pertaining to both wristbands will be refunded to one bank account.

Can I split payments with a friend?

No, the payment terminal can only process one transaction at a time. The wristband used to initiate a transaction has to be used for its completion. If you use another wristband during an initiated transaction, the system will return an error. This is a safety function, which secures that the buyer has full control over their expenses.

Can I transfer credit from one account to another?

No, credit cannot be transferred from one personal account to another. Any unused credit will be refunded in accordance with our refund policy.

LOST WRISTBAND

What happens if I lose my wristband at the festival?

If you registered a cashless account and linked it with the wristband number before the loss, everything is easy. Just stop by the Customer Care booth – the staff will help you block the cashless wallet and transfer your credit to a new wristband. You can also block a lost wristband yourself in your cashless account: click on the “Freeze” icon in the “Wristband” section.

If you didn’t link your wristband with your cashless account, this option is unfortunately not available, and the situation is similar to losing a wallet with cash. A user who is not registered needs to come to the Customer Care booth, show a valid festival ticket and an ID card matching the name on the ticket, and will then receive another wristband (with no credit).

REFUNDS AND UNUSED CREDIT

What happens with the unspent Bolts remaining in my cashless account?

The only refund option is having the money returned to your bank account. For foreign accounts, the refund will be made in EUR according to the sending bank’s applicable rates (the selling rate of “Fio banka”).

What are the refund conditions?

Refund is only possible for accounts with 3 BLT or more. We charge a refund fee of 1 BLT.

Can I ask for a refund for more wristbands at the same time?

If you set up a cashless account in advance and link it with two ticket numbers (yours and your partner’s), you will share the funds in the same cashless account and the unused credit will be returned to one bank account. In other cases, 1 wristband = 1 cashless account.
