INTERVIEW: Drum & Bass Devotions 017 with T & Sugah

EDM Identity published an interview and mix as part of the Drum & Bass Devotions series with drum and bass duo T & Sugah on January 13, 2026. The duo, made up of Robin Storm and Philippe Jouneghani, talk about the evolution of the genre, which they say has “absolutely exploded” in recent years to become more mainstream, citing the TikTok platform as one of the main factors in this growth.

T & Sugah recall that drum and bass has shaped their lives for over a decade and believe its energy is now more resonant with today’s fast-paced culture. However, they also stress the importance of maintaining the “soul” genre and the authenticity of the scene as it grows in popularity, and state that drum and bass remains strong in the Netherlands due to the connection between big shows and local communities.

The duo also comment on the Amsterdam scene as being on par with other DnB hubs such as London, Bristol and Perth, and highlight new talent such as Skiye, El Pablo, Oko and Atmos. The article includes a mix (Drum & Bass Devotions 017) that reflects their style combining melodic and energetic elements, which they describe as a “club or festival energy” set.

INTERVIEW: Entering the DRKNET with MEL & Enta

LoveThatBass published an interview with drum & bass producers and DJs MEL and Enta about their new collaborative project DRKNET. MEL is known for her dark sets and releases on RAM Records and Viper, while Enta has a discography on Hospital, Eatbrain and Souped Up and a reputation for innovative sound design. The duo explains that they first met in person backstage at a Virus rave event after supporting each other’s work online, and their collaboration began by playing back-to-back shows in Bristol and Rotterdam.

The name DRKNET reflects the “dark” aesthetic of their mix of neurofunk and harder drum & bass, combining diverse elements of their individual styles. The project won’t just be a DJ duo – they’re planning a co-production and have signed an EP due out in summer 2026, and are anticipating their debut as DRKNET on the main stage at Korsakov Weekender with great energy. In the interview, they also discuss trends in the scene, where they see the return of heavier and more technical styles of drum & bass as a reaction to the poppier layers of the genre, and share advice for producers on finding their own sound and technical approaches in the mixdown.

DRKNET consider neurofunk as a catalyst for emotional expression in today’s “dystopian” times, and choose the track “Conflict – Messiah” as a reference.
