RELEASE: Chase & Status release new single ‘Through The Pain’

After almost two years, British drum & bass duo Chase & Status have released a new single titled “Through Pain”. The track features a guest appearance by London rapper Pozer.
The track combines the hard drum & bass production style of Chase & Status with the rap vocals of Pozer. The single continues the duo’s string of collaborations with UK MCs and vocalists in recent years.
The release of the new single comes off the release of their album 2 RUFF, Vol. 2.
RELEASE: Koherent release four-track drum & bass EP ‘3AM’

British drum & bass duo Koherent has released a new EP titled “3AM”. It contains four tracks and was released on the Overview Music label.
The EP continues the duo’s characteristic technical drum & bass style. The production combines detailed rhythm work, deep bass lines and a darker atmosphere. Precise sound design predetermines the club functionality of the tracks.
Koherent have built a reputation in the modern drum & bass scene in recent years through releases on specialist labels and regular club support. According to the review, “3AM” confirms their position as producers focused on a technical, energetic sound.
DOCUMENT: Goldie released a documentary tracing the origins of the Rufige Kru project

A new documentary about the creation of producer Goldie’s Rufige Kru project is out. The film is titled “The Rufige Files” and premiered on March 5.
The documentary was co-directed by Goldie and Andy Hayes in collaboration with Army Of Few and London Records. The whole film was shot in Phuket, Thailand last spring.
The film follows the beginnings of Rufige Kru in the British jungle and drum & bass scene of the 90s. The project, led by Goldie, worked with producers such as Linford Jones and Mark Rutherford.
The story is told primarily from the perspective of Goldie and producer Submotive. Marc Mac, Photek, dBridge and Heist also appear in the film.
The documentary traces the evolution of Rufige Kru’s sound from their first EP “Darkrider” in 1992 to last year’s project “Alpha Omega”. The latter was created from original archive tapes and older recordings.
The film also touches on Goldie’s past as a graffiti artist and his current interest in yoga and healthy living.

A new documentary “Free Party: A Folk History” charting British rave culture of the late 1980s has announced a series of premieres. The film will be shown at several screenings in the UK during 2026.
The film focuses on the emergence of the free party scene and rave culture that developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The documentary follows the period before the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act of 1994.
The film contains archive footage and interviews with people who were part of the rave scene at the time. The filmmakers try to capture the community character and DIY organization of illegal events.
Along with the premiere announcement, the filmmakers have also released the official trailer of the film. It shows archive footage from rave events and testimonies from participants of the scene at the time.
The documentary is part of a wider interest in the history of British dance music and rave culture. The screenings are intended to give an insight into a period that has greatly influenced the development of electronic music in the UK.
